Bench #LOVEMYHOOD Project – Behind The Scenes

Last week I scurried along to Brick Lane to visit the good folk at Canoe Inc to be involved in a project call #LOVEMYHOOD by Bench!

In celebration of the hood being an integral piece of each and every Bench collection since they began back in Manchester in the late 1980’s, #Lovemyhood London is the final exciting stage of a global campaign and project. Focusing on the blogger and how they have become a formidable part of the fashion landscape, the UK concept turns the lenses of bloggers and young influencers alike back on themselves by inviting them to be photographed or illustrated by one of four incredible artists and photographers including:

Andrew Khozravani, a South London based illustrator and animator who’s past clients include Dazed & Confused, Slam City Skates and Wu Tang Clan, amongst others. Dominic Marley who can count Nike, Redbull and Carhartt among the pages of his photography portfolio. Sussex based creative and illustrator Rebel Yuth aka John Ryan Speed, who brings music culture to life through his intricate line drawings and Stew Capper portrait photographer and proud contributor to NME, Article and Vice Magazine.

Gianmarco Lorenzi Re Launch

Last week I scurried on down to the Gianmarco Lorenzi re launch at their South Molton Street store.  The champs and cupcakes were flowing as was the guest list.  Plenty of bloggers, press and personalties gathered to coo over the fabulous shoes, enjoy a drink or two and have a good old natter.

Being the lucky lady that I am and a major shoe enthusiast, I was gifted the most beautiful pair of Gianmarco Lorenzi shoes.

Adorned by some of the most influential women such as Beyonce, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, I was only too happy and chuffed to have been gifted a pair from such an amazing brand. (Style post up shortly)

About Gianmarco Lorenzi:

‘Since 1975 Gianmarco Lorenzi has consistently delivered exceptional craftsmanship. The special attention paid to the quality of materials used and an in-depth knowledge of the shape of the female foot is what makes the Gianmarco Lorenzi collection so unique, with guaranteed comfort as standard.’

Have you checked out Gianmarco Lorenzi?

Twinings Infusions: Dating Colleagues

Stereotypically, sleeping with your boss or anyone work related is forbidden. But is it the thrill everyone in our contemporary workplace is looking for?

It’s like the forbidden fruit that everyone wants! It’s naughty, it’s bad and it’s deviantly exciting.

Recent studies show dating someone work related is increasingly becoming the workplace norm. With 56% of workers having been involved in an office relationship at some point, attitudes are becoming much more accepting. In particular, the younger generation is providing a gateway for office relationships but has this been anticipated for some time now?

We have become workaholics, obsessed with money and consumerism, and it has been shown that people are spending much more time in the office including socialising with colleagues, rather than outside friends. Therefore, spending much more time with these people allows more room for romance.

Nevertheless, let’s assess this properly, perks of dating a colleague? Firstly, you are both clearly interested in the same subject matters and therefore, should have a lot in common. Also, spending around five days a week together and having a similar time table, surely fits well with one another’s routines?

However, there comes a point in every relationship where you are spending too much time together and it can become both overwhelming and even annoying. You’ll end up having a similar friendship group and let’s be honest, work is a competitive environment where everyone is chasing that promotion. There is also office gossip to take into consideration, are you able to function under critical colleagues and fierce deadlines?

Is it really worth the stress? What if you break up? It fuels the office flames and creates ice within the atmosphere, not a particularly nice working environment.

It’s painful. It’s life. But in my opinion, work is work and dating a colleague is a huge interference causing unnecessary stress when all I want is a Twining’s camomile and a good romance novel.

Don’t date colleagues, or prepare for an interesting adventure.

Spotlight: Crown Love

Wearing: Crown Love Black pink hear tee

British fashion label Crown Love launches its contemporary collection of graphic print, ethically sourced T-shirts and vests for Spring Summer ‘14. The cult label combines inspiration from Britain’s history with quirky printed graphics and iconic slogans.

I’m a lover of new niche brands where the passion, thought process and creativity really shows through.. Crown Loves design ideas and general brand overview is quirky and fun.. making for a more interesting wear.  Key pieces in the collection include the ‘Queen of Hearts’ racer back vest, ‘Give Your Dreams Wings’ slogan vest, and ‘Missing Paris’ cropped T-shirt.  My personal fave is the one above. a simple black tee with two hears either side of your front shoulders and ‘Crown’ written along the collar.

I rocked this tee over fashion week and got some really nice compliments (got papped but awaiting pics)..,it’s definitely a brand to watch and follow!!
